As my final days at UNBC approach, I reflect upon the journey that led me to where I am now: A teacher! I have submitted my applications for certification and my TQS, and I am ready to start my first contract in my very own class in just one week! Though my journey at UNBC was a roller coaster – with challenges ranging from a faculty strike to a global pandemic and two and a half terms of online school, I am incredibly grateful for the friendships I made along the way, and the destination I am finally arriving at. I feel that I could shout from the rooftops, “I am finally a teacher!” At UNBC, I attended and presented at WESTCAST2020, I was a member-at-large, and then Director of the UNBC Education Club, I explored the local environment of Prince George, including the trails surrounding UNBC, I gained work and volunteer experience in education-related fields, and I flourished in three amazing practicums. Thank you, UNBC, for the adventure!
