My goal as an educator is to nurture students into happy, healthy, well-rounded, and constructive future members of society. The school system is – for many students – their first instance of participating in a society. The end goal for me, is to make each student better off than they were before they entered my classroom.

When I have my own classroom, I hope to teach in a very holistic way. I aspire to live my life very holistically and I hope that I can transfer this into teaching. I like to raise my own plants and gardens, create rather than purchase, and reduce my consumption through thrifting, composting, and repurposing whenever possible. I dream of a class library filled with pre-loved books, a bustling class garden filled with vegetables and flowers to attract butterflies, hatching chickens each spring, consistent outdoor education, and days filled with creating and learning led by student inquiry.

Once I have completed my Bachelor of Education, I hope to pursue a master’s degree or my 5+. I love learning, and I know that learning will be a part of my journey, no matter what it looks like. I also aspire to one day earn my TEFL, and teach English overseas. Travel is a huge passion of mine, and to combine my passion with my career would be a dream come true!

My motivation in teaching is betterment. Betterment for myself, in my lifelong journey as a learner and educator, and betterment for my students as they begin their own lifelong learning journeys.
