My most influential learning experiences have all been those that I’ve had while travelling the world, something that is one of my greatest passions. Through my travels through 18+ countries over the years, I found myself exploring new cultures and connecting to people, place, and land in ways I never could have before. One experience I would like to highlight is the incredible learning journey I navigated while in Thailand and Vietnam in Summer of 2019, the summer prior to my enrolment in the UNBC Education Program. I encountered an incredible amount of people that made me feel welcomed and accepted, and I discovered beautiful land that held so much cultural significance. The combination of these people and lands allowed me to truly understand and embrace the idea of place, and its immense importance to both locals and visitors.
